The history of Kazan is connected with the names of many famous poets, writers and composers, both Tatar and Russian. Maxim Gorky lived in Kazan for 4 years, Leo Tolstoy at the age of 14 moved to live in Kazan and spent 7 years here, Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin spent 3 days in Kazan. Many other names are associated with our city, these are Evgeny Abramovich Boratynsky, Gavriila Romanovich Derzhavin, Sergey Timofeevich Aksakov, Vasily Pavlovich Aksyonov and many others. Of Tatar poets and writers, of course, the brightest, in my opinion, personality of Tatar culture is Gabdulla Tukay, such poets and writers as Hadi Taktash, Musa Jalil, Abdurakhman Absalamov. The list can go on indefinitely.
