On the territory of modern Tatarstan, the first Christians and saints appeared in the Middle Ages, and the heyday of Orthodoxy fell on the 16th century, when Ivan the 4th conquered Kazan, then the Annunciation Cathedral was built - the oldest stone temple of Kazan. You will visit the Virgin Monastery, where the appearance of the Virgin took place and the famous Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was found. Also: Peter and Paul Cathedral, Ioanno-Predechensky Monastery, a unique temple-monument in honor of soldiers who fell during the capture of Kazan.
