Literary Kazan

Kazan has always attracted creative people with its unusual culture. Here East and West merge; here, like nowhere else in Russia, the simultaneous influence of Orthodox and Muslim traditions is particularly palpable. Due to life circumstances or by their own will, many famous writers and poets lived or visited Kazan. The most famous names of literary figures associated with Kazan are Lev Tolstoy, A.S. Pushkin, G.R. Derzhavin, Maxim Gorky, Vasily Aksyonov, Sergey Aksakov, E.A. Baratynsky, Musa Jalil, Gabdulla Tukay. You will learn about the Kazan period in their lives, pass or drive through the streets where they walked, see the places where they lived and studied. At your request, you can visit the museums of M. Gorky, M. Jalil, L. Tolstoy, G. Tukay, E. A. Boratynsky.
