Tour of the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan

I suggest you to immerse yourself in the history of our region by visiting the largest regional museum - the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan. A visit to the local history museum will allow you to get a complete idea of the history of Tatarstan and will be the logical conclusion and culmination of all excursions around Kazan and the surrounding area. About 970 thousand items are stored in its funds. You will see unique exhibits: an authentic carriage of Catherine II, in which she traveled around Kazan, the largest stuffed beluga over 4 m long, products of Bulgar and Tatar jewelers, a golden temporal suspension-duck of the 11th century, which tells the legend of the creation of the world, unique archaeological finds, ancient coins, weapons, reconstruction of armor and weapons of warriors of different periods, reconstruction of the dwelling and much more.

The museum has a number of permanent exhibitions and temporary exhibitions: The ancient history of Tatarstan, the Middle Ages, Money circulation and trade routes of the region, Tatar gold pantry, Rarities of Orthodox culture, Kazan province in the 18th century, Golden hands of masters - folk crafts of Tatars, Seasons and others.
