Sviyazhsk was founded by Ivan the Terrible as a military fortress and is a monument of urban planning of the 16th century, a historical monastery and spiritual center. This is the first Russian city in our region from where Orthodox culture spread. The unique appearance of Sviyazhsk gives water space, meadows, uninhabited islets
