Raifsky Bogoroditsky Monastery, founded in the 17th century - the only monastery complex in Tatarstan, designed in the Baroque style, is rightly considered the pearl of Tatarstan. The monastery received its name from a place on the Red Sea, where in the IV century Christian monks died at the hands of pagans (in honor of the holy fathers, in Raif and Sinai beaten).
It is the greatest, not in size, but in God’s work. Guests and pilgrims come here from all over Russia to venerate the miraculous Georgian icon of the Mother of God, drink and collect healing water from the Raif spring consecrated by Patriarch of All Russia Alexei II, and admire the Raifa lake, which is associated with one of the legends of the Raifa monastery. The Raif Monastery complex is located on the territory of the unique natural Volga-Kama reserve.
