Raifa Bogoroditsky Monastery
Description:
On the excursion we will visit the Raifa Bogoroditsky Monastery, founded in 1613 by the monk Filaret. The monk came from Moscow lands, from the Chudov Monastery to the Kazan region and sought a quiet place for solitude and tireless prayer to God. And 27 versts from Kazan on the shore of Sumy Lake, he found this place. Founded his abode. Since that time in this reserved place flows quiet measured monastic life. In the cathedral of this monastery since the 17th century there is a glorified ancient miraculous image of the Georgian icon of the Mother of God.
