Relax excursion to the Blue Lakes and a trial dive with scuba

Description:

Blue Lakes (Tat. Zangar Kullar) is a system of lakes in the city of Kazan and the Vysokogorsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as a reserve located on the wetland and forest territory adjacent to the lakes. The area of the reserve is 1910 hectares, the total area of lakes is 0.3 hectares. The Blue Lakes have been a natural monument since 1972. Lakes are natural attractions of Kazan.

The system consists of three unrelated lakes, the Great Blue, the Flowing, and the Little Blue. There are few such unique natural water complexes on the planet. The lakes are divided by ducts and streams into separate reservoirs. All of them have a single food with water from an underground river, the beginning of which is in the Kirov region. That is the view of scientists. The first brief description of the Blue Lakes was given in 1829 by the Kazan scientist, rector of KSU and local historian Karl Fuchs. In early sources, the former name of the Great Blue Lake is given: Light. The Great Blue Lake has an average depth of 1-3 meters, but there are two sinkholes - the Great and the Small Deeps. The depth of the Great Deep is 18 meters, the Small is 6 meters. At the bottom of the Great Deep in the northwestern round part of the lake, keys saturated with gypsum (up to 250 l / sec) are beaten. The water temperature in the deep round part of the lake varies little from time of year and ranges from 5-7 degrees Celsius in summer to 3-4 in winter. From the deep round part, the lake zigzag runs along Kazanka and ends with a drain into it through two small waterfalls. The water is absolutely transparent - at the bottom of the lake you can see the woody remains that went under water at the time of its formation. Visibility is 46 meters - the entire water "bowl" is visible in the smallest detail. If you dive into the lake, then you can view the water column and horizontally just as far. You seem to be hanging over the abyss. From the bottom of the funnel, if you look up, you can clearly see trees growing on the shores of the lake. The water in the lake is salty and by this indicator is close to the sea, but the taste seems fresh because of the high content of calcium salts in it. These salts give the water a characteristic turquoise color. The bottom of the lake is sluggish, and every careless movement of a person immersed in the water raises a column of mud from him up. Big Blue Lake is more difficult to access than Small, and, as a result, less known to Kazan residents, many of which are identified with Blue Lake (this is how, in the singular, the informal name of the lake system is used), primarily Small Blue. To the round part of the Big Lake leads a dirt road from the depth of the village of Shcherbakovo, to the waterfall - an asphalt road from the village of Kadyshevo. At the waterfall part of the lake there is a small settlement and previously there was a rest house "Blue Lake". Small Blue Lake is much smaller in area, its depth is up to 4 m. The lake has two drains to Kazanka, including one with the lake waterfall and the surrounding area are equipped for rest and year-round walrusing - bridges and changing cabins are equipped. In addition to the equipped main Small Lake, downstream Kazanka there is another - flowing, much smaller in size, having a separate runoff and a smaller depth. The water temperature in the summer in the Small Lake is almost the same as in the Big Blue, in the Flowing - slightly higher. For a long time, the energy of the keys filling the lake was used by a stone mill, later by a small hydroelectric power plant (until the 1950s). The Blue Lakes are declared a state nature reserve. On their territory, there are a number of restrictions - it is forbidden to travel by motor vehicles outside official roads, installing tents and breeding fires, collecting flowers and medicinal plants, etc. “The deep rounded part of the Blue Lake is equipped with bridges – this is a favorite place for year-round walrus bathing and year-round diving in the Great Abyss of divers. The lake is also a great place for night diving. In the light of the lanterns, the sources are viewed to a great depth, it can be seen that the outlets of the springs connect with each other at a considerable depth under the bottom of the lake. An absolutely futuristic picture of the starry sky through an absolutely transparent lens of water. The stars and moon shine with all the colors of the rainbow.
