Description:

Burnaev Mosque combines features of Russian and Eastern Muslim eclecticism. Among the locals it is called “foreign”, since most parishioners are indeed foreigners. The history of the mosque begins in 1799.

The merchant Salih Mustafin built a wooden temple for Shakirds on this place. When the founder died, the shrine passed into the hands of Muslims.

1872 was a turning point, as after the fire it was decided to erect a new shrine on the wreckage. Now it's brick.

It is noteworthy that the object has not changed its original appearance since then. The facade of the building looks interesting, as it demonstrates the Tatarstan traditional ornament. The exterior inspires a sense of peace thanks to the combination of yellow and green colors. On Friday, the mosque holds services for the masses.

Burnaev Mosque is located in the Old Tatar Sloboda, a few meters from the stop of Akhmyatov.
