The Pigeon Fountain
Description:
Fountain "Pigeon", located in the center of Kazan, is a small sculptural-water composition, which consists of several figures of pigeons on a round bowl.
There is a fountain on one of the main pedestrian streets of Kazan - N. Bauman Street. Not far from the fountain "Pigeon" there are several no less famous fountains: with frogs and a mermaid. In the summer heat, these fountains attract local residents and visitors to the city.
The authors of this unusual composition, like most in Kazan, are famous sculptors Asiya Minullina and Igor Bashmakov. In connection with the problem of communication of the fountain (water was poured not into the bowl, but on the pedestrian part), in 2012 the fountain was reconstructed.
Very often near the fountain you can meet live pigeons who come to this place to drink water with their sculptural relatives. Fountain "Pigeon" less like children, because it is impossible to sit, unlike the famous frogs, but more attracts romantic adults.
Thanks to its convenient location, you can get to the Pigeon fountain by any public transport that goes to the city center. From the railway station, walking along Chernyshevskaya Street, you can get to Bauman Street, where the fountains are located.
