Temple of All Religions
ooh Staro-Arakchinskaya, 4, Kazan
Description:
The temple of all religions is the brainchild of the architect Ildar Khanov, who was inspired to such a difficult task in his travels in Tibet and India, where he studied Eastern art, Buddhism, yoga, Tibetan and Chinese medicine.
The temple began to be built in April 1994 in the village garden of Khanov in the suburbs of Kazan in the village of Staroe Arakchino. Everything was carried out at the expense of Ildar Khanov and donations of people. After his death, his family continued to build the temple. Although the temple is not yet fully completed, it is open to visitors.
The Ecumenical Temple is an original building uniting 16 world religions in a complex. In one building there are a mosque, a Christian church, a Buddhist pagoda, and a synagogue, domes of religions of disappeared civilizations are being built. The building combines a work of high art and a cultural center, music concerts and charity events are organized on its territory. There are no plans for worship in the temple.
According to the founder, Ildar Khanov, all world religions are equal and there is no point in dividing them and waging religious disputes: God is within each of us.
The Ecumenical Church is an architectural symbol of all religions and their museum, the only such building in the world, in recent years, has become one of the most popular sights of Kazan.
