Lake Kaban

In ancient times, the place of the Kazan lake system "Kaban" was a river, over time the riverbed separated from the rest of the part. This channel became a system of lakes, which are now called "Boar" or "Boar Kule" in Tatar.

In total, the system of lakes "Kaban" has three separate lakes, the largest of which is the middle one. Kaban lakes are famous for their purity and abundance of fish, which made them a frequent place among Kazan tourists.

In addition to fish, the inhabitants of the lake are ducks and gulls.

An interesting and at the same time terrible fact about the lower lake Kaban - in 1970, it was released toxic waste, which provoked the death of all the fish living in it, the good, over time, the waste evaporated and the fish originated there again.

Now, the lake "Kaban" is a great place for sports recreation and just a pretty beautiful landscape, it is easy to get to the lakes - they are right in the center of the southern part of the city of Kazan.
