TSPU is one of the oldest higher educational institutions, founded in 1876.
On March 11, 2009, a certificate of state accreditation was received. Since 2011 it became part of Kazan Volga Federal University. The updated university is designed to be a single center of humanitarian science, culture and education in the Republic of Tatarstan and beyond.
