Bauman Street
Description:
Bauman Street is one of the oldest streets of Kazan, which during the Kazan Khanate was called the Nagai Road. Now the street bears the name in honor of a native of Kazan - revolutionary Bauman.
This is a pedestrian street and it passes through the very center of Kazan, starting from the Kremlin and ending with Gabdulla Tukay Square. It unites other iconic sights of Kazan: the Kazan Kremlin, the John-Predechensky Monastery, the Church of Epiphany with a bell tower, the monument to Chaliapin, a statue dedicated to the Kazan cat and many others.
In the morning and afternoon, tourists and locals walk along the street, numerous cafes, offices and shops work, temples are open. In the evening, representatives of various creative professions gather on Bauman Street. These are musicians, street magicians and dancers, thanks to them the street becomes even more lively and bright.
The street is an area of entertainment and trade, with a large number of shops, restaurants, souvenir shops, fountains, monuments and more. Bauman traditionally holds folk festivals in the days of the Republic and the city.
Always crowded at any time of the year until late at night, the street is one of the main city attractions visited in Kazan by tourists.
