Building:

The Hermitage-Kazan Center is located on the territory of the Kazan Kremlin in the building of the former Juncker School. The building was built in the 1840s as a school of military cantonists by architect P. G. Pyatnitsky. In 1861, it was granted to the Military School, which in 1866 was transformed into the Juncker School. The building of the Juncker School is distinguished by a clear symmetrical layout, high bright rooms along the long main corridor, a strict and monumental appearance inherent in late Russian ("Nikolaev") classicism.
