About the company:
Hasan Tufan (1900 - 1981) - poet, classic of Tatar literature.
The new exposition of the museum, opened for the 100th anniversary of the poet, tells about the fate of H. Tufan and the rich history of the village of Staraya Kiremet. The exposition presents objects of Tatar life, copies of documents testifying to the forced baptism of the Tatars in 1557, and the request of peasants to return them to the Mohammedan faith (1906). Also interesting is the document on the issuance of cash and grain loans to the peasants of the Chistopol district in 1900. The life of the village from the 20s of the XX century is presented in detail.
The main theme of the exhibition is the life and work of Hassan Tufan. It introduces the Kazan period of the poet’s life, exile and stay in his native village. The interior of the Kazan apartment was reconstructed, a copy of the personal file of H. Tufan, repressed in 1940 and returned from Stalinist camps in 1956, is exhibited. Of personal belongings in the museum there is a shirt sewn in exile by the poet himself, in which he returned home, books of the 20-30s of the twentieth century, written in the Tatar language in Latin script, and documents of the poet’s wife Louise Saliaskarova, collected over 16 years of her husband’s exile. Among the memorial items are still working mechanical clocks - the alarm clock "Mir", which the poet himself repeatedly repaired, the first book by H. Tufan, published in 1930 in Latin script. It was released by Tatar critics G. Gali and G. Nigmati. The first meeting of Tufan with his book took place in the National Library of Tashkent. The exposition is complemented by the photographs of H. Tufan, including those surrounded by Tatar writers and cultural figures.
Part of the exposition tells about the first teacher of H. Tufan - Mullah Khasajan Akhmerov, who was the first in the village in 1906 to open a madrasah and a mosque, turned his house into a library and opened it to the residents of the village of Staraya Kiremet, engaged in enlightenment until the 1930s.
The opening of the new exposition on December 13, 2000 was attended by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Mikhail Shaimiev and other distinguished guests. Gifts presented by them, replenished the funds of the museum.
