About the company:
Lenin House Museum - one of the oldest museums in Kazan, was opened on November 7, 1937, on the 20th anniversary of the October Revolution in the wing of the Orlov House, built in the 1880s. It was created by Maria Ilyinichna, Dmitry Ilyich and their cousin N.I. Veretennikov. The ideological inspiration was the politician Sibgat Gafurov.
The museum is located in the central historical part of the city. It is a sample of a typical wooden city estate of the II half of the XIX century, in which the Russian intelligentsia lived. In September 1888, the seed of the Ulyanovs settled in this house, returning from the village of Kokushkino, where Vladimir Ilyich was in exile for participating in the meeting on December 4, 1887 at Kazan University.
The Ulyanovs lived in this house for only 9 months, but for Vladimir Ilyich Lenin this period was an important stage in the formation of his political views. It was from 1888 to 1889 that Lenin adopted the position of Marxism, which determined his fate. The museum collection includes memorial items, illustrative and documentary materials, photographs, books that reveal the pages of the biography of V.I. Ulyanov-Lenin and his relatives, and give an idea of Kazan of the late XIX century.
At the end of the restoration, the exposition and exhibition areas will increase in the museum, a cozy reading room will appear, a multifunctional lecture hall will become. There will also be a museum garden, a favorite walking place for locals.
