Description: Gabdulla Tukay (1886-1913) was a great Tatar poet, one of the founders of Tatar literature and modern Tatar language. His works were included in the golden fund of Tatar poetry and world literature. The Museum of G. Tukay was opened in 1986 in the so-called "House of Shamil", one of the most beautiful buildings on the territory of the Old Tatar settlement. In its exposition there are memorial items of Gabdulla Tukay, his lifetime photographs and published works, newspapers and magazines, with the editors of which the poet collaborated, personal belongings and documents of people from the environment of the poet, the death mask of G. Tukay. The most valuable exhibits are memorial items of the poet, including a wicker road painting, silver cufflinks, a metal glass for pencils, bought by G. Tukay in St. Petersburg in 1912, etc. Part of the exposition space is occupied by materials of the era, including household items of the Old Tatar Sloboda, on the territory of which the museum is located. The cultural life of Kazan of the late XIX - early XX centuries is widely represented. The tour of the museum gives a holistic view not only about the fate and work of Gabdulla Tukay, but also about the life of various layers of Tatar society at the turn of the centuries, the aspirations and search for prominent representatives of the Tatar intelligentsia, the development of national thought and culture in the early twentieth century. In addition to the exposition, the museum has two exhibition halls - "Marble Hall", where the permanent exhibition "Laureates of the State Prize of the Republic of Tatarstan named after G. Tukay" is opened, and a literary salon, as well as a bookstore. The museum has a club of teachers of the Tatar language and literature "Tugan bodies" ("Native language") and amateur club "Dynasty". |
