About the company:

On August 25, 2005, the Kazan Millennium Museum was opened in the building of the Kazan National Cultural Center. Its creation was timed to the 1000th anniversary of the founding of the city. The new museum is part of the Museum of National Culture. Three exhibition halls display the most significant historical events of the city, covering the period from the first millennium BC to the present day. The museum has about 30,000 exhibits, of which 2,000 are constantly exhibited in the Millennium Museum.

In the first hall of the museum there is an exhibition dedicated to the most ancient period of the city and its history. Here, in addition to the original exhibits of the period from the first millennium BC to the XV century, there are recreated lost monuments. Among them are the Kazan Gate, which in the Middle Ages was the main city gate and a symbol of independence, as well as the Key of the City, created by analogy with the Volga Bulgaria.

In the second room, the period from the XV to the XX century is considered. There are many exhibitions covering trade and economic relations and the spiritual culture of the city. Archival materials testifying to the visit of the Russian emperors are stored here. The third room tells about modern Kazan.
