Description:

Kayum Nasyri (1825 - 1902) - scientist - encyclopedist, historian - ethnographer, linguist, writer, educator.

The museum was opened in 2002 in the house, which is a monument of Tatar wooden architecture and located on the territory of the Old Tatar Sloboda.

The idea of the exposition is based on the disclosure of historical-biographical and memorial-household themes, as well as a deep understanding of the features and stages of the development of Tatar educational thought, highlighting from the enlighteners of the XIX century K. Nasyri, Sh. Marjani, H. Faizkhanov and Khalfin.

The basis of the exposition are printed, handwritten and epistolary sources. Among them are the memorial works of K. Nasyri and a handwritten book, copied by him, as well as textbooks of madrasahs, samples of oral folk art of the Tatar people, memories of relatives, eyewitnesses and photographs from private archives.

It also presents ethnographic material collected, among other things, in the Tatar villages of the former Sviyazhsky district - the birthplace of the scientist. In addition, personal belongings belonging to relatives of K. Nasyri were exhibited.

Among the valuable collections are the memorial collection of Kayum Nasyri, personal belongings of the Khusainov family, Marat Valishin, as well as a collection of books and textbooks of madrasahs in Arabic and Tatar languages of the late XVIII-XX centuries.

The museum is constantly looking for new forms of work. Among them is the creation of the Museum "Garden of Memory", founded in 1997. Today’s garden delights everyone who comes to the museum. It became an additional exhibition hall under the open sky, where nature itself is responsible for its design.
