Kurai, a folk Tatar instrument.
Description:
In the poem of Gabdulla Tukay “Mother’s Prayer” sounds kuray, this is a folk Tatar instrument resembling a flute, a whirstle. Translated from many languages curay-dry stem. Nature itself gave its greatest creation – an original flute. An ordinary tube cut from a fragile reed. Just a meter long, a few holes - that's the whole unwise tool. Classic kuray is made from the stem of an umbrella plant of the same name, has 4 play holes on the front side and one on the back. Smoking range is about three octaves. The intonation range of smoking is unusually wide. It has sadness and joy, strength and fragility, tender lyrics and epic sublimity. To learn to play kurai, you need to be patient and have a great desire, you need to practice daily for 60 minutes. Kurai is also considered one of the national symbols of the Bashkir people. A stylized inflorescence of seven petals is depicted on the coat of arms and flag of Bashkortostan.
