The Museum “Archaeology, Ethnography and Ecology of Siberia” of Kemerovo State University is the largest university museum in the region. It was founded in 1976.
The collections of the museum reflect the material and spiritual culture of the peoples of Southern Siberia in different historical periods, as well as the natural diversity of the region and adjacent territories.
Archaeological materials reflect the subject complex from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages and ancient rock art. Ethnographic collections include items of Shors, teleuts, Khakass and Russian Siberia XIX - early XX century. Showcases and dioramas reveal the main occupations of the aborigines of the region - hunting, crafts, beliefs.
The department of ecology presents artistically decorated stuffed animals and birds of all continents. Particular attention is paid to the fauna of the Kemerovo region and species listed in the Red Book.
The museum offers sightseeing and thematic excursions in all sections.
