District Historical Museum of Kirs was established on December 29, 1977. Initially, the museum was located in the building of the Kirsinsky Cable Plant and covered the history of the Kirskabel plant. Organized work on the collection of material and exhibits Gluhikh N.A., Chirkov M.I., Oskolkov E.N., Filippov L.V., Chebotareva N.M. and others. The first freelance director of the museum - Chirkov M.I. Since January 1, 1983, the museum is located in the premises of the district House of Culture. The museum has 5 halls: ethnographic, history of the plant and district, military glory, history of the industry of the district, Komsomol glory. Flower greenhouse has about 150 varieties of plants, including rare exotic varieties. Since January 2001, the museum has been in the municipal department. The staff of the museum has 7 people. Various forms and methods of work of the museum. These are solemn presentations of passports, pioneer gatherings, meetings with veterans of war and labor, folklore holidays, local history games, theatrical excursions, lessons of courage, peace, history, biology, labor, art, thematic exhibitions. Various forms of work, taking into account the age and interests of visitors help to receive up to 5 thousand visitors a year in the museum.

- Alley of linden and larch, planted in 1861, in honor of the abolition of serfdom in Russia.
- Intercession Church - construction began in 1894, consecrated 14 (1).10.1915.
- Big Kirsinsky Pond - a length of 9 km, an artificial reservoir, the construction of which was carried out from 1729 to 1739 by the serf manager of the plant (see below) G. Vyazemsky and hired workers under the leadership of the master from Ustyug Yevsey Krylov. The water of the pond was the driving energy of the mechanisms of the Kirsin ironworks.
