The museum is a repository of materials and documents on the history of Kuzbass and the city from ancient times to the present day.
The museum was founded in 1982. It was created under the leadership of the oldest worker of culture Elfimova G.E. Officially the museum was opened on June 11, 1989. The principle of exposition construction is typical, traditional for local history museums. Collection groups of materials are subject to the theme of the exposition, characterizing certain aspects of the development of nature, life and culture of our region, as well as historical events that took place in this area. It is the only museum in the city and plays an active role in the cultural life of the population. Monthly new exhibitions are organized from the funds of other museums, exhibitions of artists, collectors, etc. More than 20 large mass events are held annually. The museum works in close contact with vocational schools, schools, technical schools. A program of museum universal education by age categories has been developed. Exit events and exhibitions are held. Visitors to the museum will get a complete idea of the nature of the region, its historical past, its traditions and culture. |
