Jeeping along the Jamagat Gorge to the Narzans
Description:
The most popular place in the vicinity of Teberda are mineral springs in the valley of the Garalikol River, better known as Jamagat Narzan.
There are two ways to the sources: along the valley of the Jamagat River and the other along the old aryk, bypassing the northern slopes of Köl Basha to the Nazaly-Kol River, through a low spur to the Jamagata Valley. This path is shorter and runs through the forest. Behind the garden plot of the Teberda camp you need to turn to the right and continue to the private estate with pyramidal poplars. From here, the trail leads along the aryk and after an hour and a half walk leads to a large clearing with traces of bonfires. Here the trail branches: to the right path to the Nazaly-Kol valley, directly and across the bridge to the Jamagat River and further to the sources of Narzan. Two springs come to the surface near the confluence of Garalikol and Epchik, at an altitude of about 1800 meters above sea level. A kilometer upstream on the right bank of Garala-Cola two more outlets of mineral water. The total flow rate of four sources is about 26 thousand liters per day. The water temperature is 6 degrees. Near the first sources there are two spacious buildings for overnight stays of tourists, which are called “huts”.
