North of the city in the river Teberdu flows the river Muhu (this is the border of the Teberda reserve). The Mukhu valley is a popular route to the Mukhinsky pass and to the valley of the Azgek river to the Azgek lakes. The journey begins on the outskirts of Teberda. First, the road leads tourists along the right bank of the Muhu River through a beautiful birch grove, then through a mixed forest. On the left are the buildings of the recreation center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs "Teberda", on the right - the cordon of the reserve. The difference in types of forest vegetation here is explained not so much by the height above sea level (1500 m), but by the exposure of the slopes. On the shaded moistened northern slopes, forests of spruce and fir grow. The valleys of the Jamagat and Muhu rivers are a kind of border of the distribution area of fir, which is nowhere to the north. The road is getting closer to the river, in front of the bridge, then the road, already on the other bank, rises along the southern slope of the mountain, sometimes overgrown with forest. In an hour and a half there will be a source. Right by the road there is a spring, enclosed in a pipe. You can rest here. In the east, if you look down towards the resort, you have a view of the mountains, striking a variety of colors: blue fir, bright green birches, opal oxin and dark green shrubs, and in the distance, in the depths of the gorges, ribbons of mountain rivers sparkle with silver. After a 20-minute walk, the road leads to a Copt near the mouth of the Azgek River. If you go up to the right towards Bald Mountain for three hundred meters, you can find a medieval Alan settlement, from which the streets and walls of houses have been preserved. The Azgek River is the right tributary of the Muhu River. In its upper reaches there are many lakes of car origin. The road to the lakes is well traveled, since there are koshars in the upper reaches. Up from the main road to the right is the road towards Mount Bald. You can see the koshare ahead. The main road goes up the gorge towards the Muhu pass on Mount Bald. We can do this tour with an overnight stay and a bath in the mountains.
