Tichtengen, magical narzan/Shaurtu glacier

Beautiful and non-tourist route in Kabardino-Balkaria for those who want to immerse themselves in the unique nature of the North Caucasus.

Tichtengen can only be compared with Elbrus. Locals consider Tichtengen a long-extinct volcano. Hence the name ("tihten" - calmly, "gene" - the ending indicating the past tense).

The height of the mountain range is 4617 m.o.m. But it catches the eye and fascinates him no less than the famous Elbrus. And at the foot beats a magical narzan, which locals call “living water”.
