Kislovodsk railway station
Description:
Kislovodsk railway station, opened in 1894, is the extreme point of railway communication of the Caucasian mineral waters, where the rails end and the mountains begin. It is located next to the building of the former Kurzal, now the Philharmonic.
The author of the project of the station building was engineer Nikolai Eduardovich Cordes. The station is a long one-storey building in eclectic style. The central entrance is made in the form of a pointed arch, over which you can read the ancient inscription "Kislovodsk".
All the facades of the building are decorated with an arcature belt, protrusions and a frieze with square protrusions and shoulder blades that end over the cornice with tubes. It is one of the few old railway stations that have been preserved in the country.
