Tour programme
1 day
09.40 (train No018A) - at the railway station in Petrozavodsk you will be met by the main character of Kalevala Väinemöinen. He will introduce you to the guide and send you by bus on a sightseeing tour of the capital of Karelia. We will meet with him again, but a little later.
And while enjoying the winter views of the city of Peter the Great, learn about its history, make a few photo stops. Be sure to visit the famous embankment of Lake Onega - a favorite place of rest for citizens and guests of the republic.
At the end of the tour, we go to the Pearl Hotel to stay and have a tight lunch.
The hotel is located in the green zone of Petrozavodsk, a 30-minute drive from the city center. Despite the fact that the hotel is located within the city limits - from the window of the room you will see a real Karelian forest.
The hotel was built in 2014. There is a cafe and a banquet hall. Spacious modern rooms (from 25 sq.m.) with all amenities, Wi-Fi. On the territory of the hotel there are arbors for barbecue. The hotel itself has a sauna with a hammam and a small pool (800 rubles per hour).
After a hot lunch (as, by the way, after frosty air), we take a break. But not for long, because we are waiting for the already familiar Väinemöinen and the beautiful maiden of the North - Anika.
He lives in the beautiful country of Kalevala, and she is in the land of ice and cold Pohyal. When Väinemöinen saw Anika, he immediately fell in love. But the treacherous old woman Louhi, the mistress of Pohjela, does not allow them to be together. So let's help them reunite. We will feel like real Karelians and bravely and steadfastly overcome the machinations of the mistress of the North.
Well, we definitely deserve this dinner! Today we say goodbye to our heroes, but not forever – we will meet with them again!
And after dinner, do not forget what we are here for – Celebrate the New Year 2016!
New Year banquet - for an additional fee - ..... rub / person (the cost is specified, approximately 4500 rubles).
2 days
I don't want to get up, but I have to!
We slowly wake up and have breakfast. Today is another great day ahead of us!
The guide is waiting! Get on the bus and go to the famous reserve Kivach, in the heart of which is the waterfall of the same name. It differs from traditional ideas about waterfalls, as it is flat, for which the height of 11 meters is very significant.
On snow-covered trails under the fascinating story of the guide, we will walk to the waterfall, and also walk along the alleys with a real Karelian birch to the nature house. This is a small museum of the reserve, where we will be told about the flora and fauna of Karelia.
After inhaling the fresh air of the winter Karelian forests, we go to warm up and have lunch.
After that, the heroes of Kalevala are waiting for us again!
Go to the mysterious and mysterious Mount Sampo.
This interesting name of the mountain comes from a magical object, around which the main plot of the Karelian epic twists. Sampo is a miracle mill with magical power and is a source of prosperity, happiness and abundance. She was abducted from old Louhi. The mistress of the North discovered the disappearance in time and went on a chase. It was during the chase that Sampo fell and broke into hundreds of pieces. And our task is to help the people of Kalevala to find parts of the mill, so that prosperity and happiness will reign in the land of Väinemöinen.
We did well with the trials of the first day, so today we will not fail!
And to freeze us during the tests will not give hot tea with real Karelian cakes - wickets!
Well, our heroic mission has been accomplished – peace and order are once again on the land of Kalevala!
Happy heroes of the epic accompany us on the way back, not forgetting to thank with small but pleasant surprises!
Upon arrival at the hotel, dinner.
3 days. This is how our adventures come to an end.
But we are not discouraged – there is another busy day ahead.
After breakfast, without forgetting to pack up and vacate the rooms, we go on a bus tour with our already almost native guide to the small town of Kondopoga.
Our goal is the pride of Karelian wooden architecture – the Church of the Assumption of the Most Holy Mother of God in 1774. It solemnly rises above the icy waters of Lake Onega almost 42 meters high. At the same time, the church is built in the best architectural traditions of the North - without a single nail!
We have repeatedly said that the Karelians are more carriers of pagan culture.
Despite the fact that the church is Orthodox, there are elements in its decoration that are not characteristic of Orthodoxy.
Let's see for ourselves!
After meeting with the architectural masterpiece, we go to lunch.
Having thoroughly fed up, we return to Petrozavodsk. We still have to buy souvenirs.
Under the guidance of our guide, we go on a small shopping trip.
And then we finish our trip at the railway station of Petrozavodsk (approximately at 17.30).
Farewell, but with the hope of new meetings in Karelia!
