Kostroma is a quiet provincial merchant city. But there were times when Kostroma could safely be called the “forge of cadres” for the Russian throne. Think for yourself, on the three streets of the Kostroma Kremlin in the XVII century there were houses of the best people of the Russian state: Gagarin, Baryatinsky, Saltykov, Volkonsky, Vyazemsky, Kurakin, Troekurov, Sheremetyev, etc., and, of course, the houses of the Romanovs and Shestovs. And for the Godunovs, Kostroma lands were patrimonial possessions.

We will walk through the historical center of the city, see the magnificent architectural ensemble of Susaninskaya Square, Gostiny Dvor, visit the territory of the Kostroma Kremlin of the XV-XVIII centuries, refresh in memory the feat of Ivan Susanin.

Then our way lies to one of the oldest Russian monasteries - Ipatievsky. It was founded at the end of the XIII century. the legendary ancestor of the Godunovs - Tatar Murza Chet. You will learn the history and development of the monastery. Visit the Trinity Cathedral, where the frescoes of Guri Nikitin are preserved. Visit the Tomb of the Godunov family and the Chamber of Romanov boyars.

• Entrance tickets to the territory of the Ipatievsky Monastery are paid separately: 350 rubles. – adult ticket; 250 rubles. – preferential ticket (children, students, pensioners) and excursion visit to the expositions – 1700 rubles. from a group of up to 5 people.
• Also separately paid transportation costs: the cost of travel in public transport – 35 rubles / person, taxi – 130-150 rubles (approximately).
