On the way to Susanino (formerly Molvitino), the village is known not only for its connection with the feat, but also for the fact that it was here that Alexey Savrasov painted the painting “Rooks Have Arrived”, known to every schoolboy.
From here, 15 minutes drive, and we are near the chapel of John the Forerunner, arranged for the 300th anniversary of the feat of Ivan Susanin in 1913. And, of course, here it is - a unique Isupov swamp. Huge! We will pass along the lanyard (wooden flooring) to the Red Pine, where, according to one version, Ivan Susanin died. We will definitely visit Domnino, where once there was the estate of Ksenia Shestova, the mother of Mikhail Romanov, who owned including the village where Susanin lived. Now on the site of the estate is a small convent in the name of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers of the Romanovs.
Some historians believe that it is here that the remains of Susanin are buried - near the Assumption Church, the simulical resting place of Susanin. Hungry and full of impressions, we will go on the way back - we are waiting for the Bear stud, where we will have lunch first. And then look around - we are in a unique place, vignified since pre-Susanin times!
The Bears are the old Bartenev estate, the land was granted to Semyon Bartenev by Ivan the Terrible! At the end of the 19th century, the estate was sold to the merchant Skalozubov, who arranged a horse farm here, where Orel trotters and Russian heavy trucks were bred.
On a short tour we will see the only surviving wooden arena in Russia of the 19th century. And of course, we are waiting for riding horses - riding or tarantas, as you wish! The trip will take about 7-8 hours, and if we leave at 10 hours, then we will return to Kostroma by 17-18 hours.
We will be a lot in the fresh air - provide suitable clothes, shoes, repellents. Do not hurt a bottle of water and a light snack - lunch at about 14.30.
You can limit yourself only to Susaninsky places or only to a horse farm - write, make a tour route together.
