In 2 hours of time spent on the tour, you will be imbued with the charm of the old town.

The streets and embankment of Kostroma are the guardians of the great past and the living history of the city. The unique appearance of the city is determined by beautiful monuments of antiquity. Start a trip to the ancient city is best from the central square. For hundreds of years, the central ensemble has hardly undergone any significant changes. Above the main square stands the Fire Kalanch – a symbol of Kostroma, which in the 19th century was so admired by Emperor Nicholas I.

And opposite the central square is a chic ensemble of Trading rows. We will walk through the galleries of the Trading Ensemble, where to this day there is a brisk trade.

The monument to Ivan Susanin is another symbol of our city. More than 400 years have passed since the feat of Ivan Susanin, and still the hero’s feat is covered with secrets and riddles, some of which you can learn by going on a trip around the city.

We will visit the site of the Kostroma Kremlin, where the Cathedral ensemble, destroyed in Soviet times, is now being restored, and we will visit the Epiphany Cathedral of the city, where the miraculous icon of Theodore the Most Holy Theotokos is located.

We will walk to the monument to the founder of the city - Yuri Dolgoruky, proudly sitting on the princely place.

The embankment of the city is small, but cozy and beautiful. You will see Ostrovsky's gazebo, and a debarcader from the film "Cruel Romance", to which the steamer "Swallow" moored.

At your request, you can supplement the tour with a visit to the Ipatiev Monastery (entrance is paid!) and other museums of the city.
