Russia, Kostroma region, Kostroma district, pos. Tryfonych
Description:
Estate Bogdanovo-Vitovo is located near the Volga, in the Kostroma region. This country estate is a well-preserved monument of architecture of the Art Nouveau era and a picturesque example of outstanding landscape art.
Bogdanovo-Vitovo is located in the valley of the Kuban River on the right high bank of the Volga, which creates a unique beauty of the relief around this place. Long ago, there was a Bogdanovo estate belonging to the noble family of the Sukhots.
Until now, in Bogdanovo-Vitovo there were trees planted in those days - oak, linden and elm, the age of which can be determined by almost two centuries.
Many generations of Sukhotins lived in this beautiful estate, and at the beginning of the 20th century, in 1904, it was acquired by the textile manufacturer Vitov. As a result, instead of the old estate, a beautiful manor and park complex was founded. The architect A.A. Galetsky took part in its creation.
The main building in Bogdanovo-Vitovo, built in the Art Nouveau style, is largely well preserved both outside and inside. The park is also one of the main attractions of the estate. During the time when the sanatorium was located in this place after the revolution, much of the former beauty was lost.
The distance from Kostroma to this beautiful place is only 28 kilometers on the highway by car.
