Parfeniev Museum of Local Lore

EMuzey in the village of Parfenievo was founded in 1968 as a rural art gallery-branch of the Kostroma Museum of Fine Arts. In 1986, the Literary and Art Museum was opened in Parfeniev. The expositions of the museum were dedicated to the works of famous writers, natives of Parfenev, S.V. Maximov and S.N. Markov. In 1999, the rural art gallery and the literary and art museum merged in the old Vinogradov house into a single museum, which was a branch of the Kostroma State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve until 2018 by the decision of the meeting of deputies of the Parfenievsky municipal district of Kostroma region No. 236-5 of 25.04.2018 “On the creation of the municipal state cultural institution Parfenievsky Museum of Local Lore” and the decree of the Parfenitsky Museum of Local History No. 28-2018 and the amended status of the museum.05. The doors of the museum are open to all who want to know more about their native land, who love their small homeland and are proud of it. And the staff of the museum with an open mind meet each visitor, helping them to touch the amazing, original culture of their native land.

The museum is open daily from 9.00 to 17.00. Break from 1300 to 1400. Weekend Sunday. The last Thursday of each month is a sanitary day.
