The museum consists of 2 buildings: a two-storey Finnish cottage, built in the 60s and built in 1994 by a local architect. In the 60s, the building of the city hotel; in 1987-1989 - the foundation of the museum on a voluntary basis. Since 1990, it has been decorated as a department of the Murmansk Regional Museum of Local History. In 1994, the opening of the main expositions, based on the principle "they were the first": the first residents - the Sami, the first geologists, builders. The nature of our area, the animal world, the military theme and geology are sufficiently represented. In January 2000, the status of the museum was changed, MU "Kovdor district museum of local lore" administration Kovdor district. |
