Kovrov Historical and Memorial Museum

The museum is a recognized center of cultural life of the city. There are over 70 years. Its funds number more than 20 thousand exhibits.

The exhibition halls of the museum are the best in the region, hosted about 150 different traveling art exhibitions. Musical and literary evenings are held in the museum. Historical expositions are the basis for local history work with schoolchildren and young people. Since 1994, the museum, together with the Department of Culture, annually conducts Christmas historical and local lore readings, based on the materials of which collections are issued.

The main historical expositions – “Kovrov land from ancient times to the IX century”, “Uyezd city at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries”, “Forever in the memory of the people” – are located in the main building.
