Church of the Nativity

Russia, Krasnodar, Christmas Embankment, 1

Description:

One of the youngest temples in the Kuban is the Church of the Nativity of Christ. In 2012, he was only 20 years old, if we count from the moment of laying and consecration of the future temple.

In the nineties of the last century, when the thaw for religion began in the Soviet Union, a group of initiative people decided to organize an Orthodox community in the Jubilee neighborhood. They sought the blessing of the Archbishop to sanctify their undertaking.

A little later, it was decided to build a temple, a place was chosen, a building permit was obtained and a settlement account was opened for donations for construction.

While construction was underway, services were held in a utility room allocated by the city. There was also the first Orthodox Sunday School in Kuban.

With God’s guidance and the help of parishioners, divine liturgies began to be held in the unfinished church in 1994. Between 1997 and 1998, the main large dome and four smaller ones were installed. In 1999, the construction of the temple was completed.
