Monument to G.M. Sedinu
Description:
The bust of Gleb Mitrofanovich Sedin is installed in close proximity to the machine tool plant (previously the plant was called Kubanol, now - the name of Sedin).
Initially, the monument was installed in 1981 at the crossroads of Zakharov and Neftezavodskaya streets, only in the nineties it was transferred to the plant of the same name, where Sedin, the leader of the movement for workers' rights in the twentieth century, once worked. With a stormy Bolshevik activity, the hero never managed to live to the thirtieth birthday.
The name of a hero whose life and heroic death became a feat for the factory he worked in. On the day of the seventieth anniversary of the construction of the machine tool factory, a bronze bust was solemnly installed. The author of the monument was sculptor N.A. Bugaev, and cast it at the Sedin plant by casters H.A. Achokh and V.A. Chushenko. In the nineties, the monument took a new place - next to the Sedin factory. Here a high pedestal was created, on which the former bronze bust was installed.
In 1918, by order of the party committee, Gleb Sedin was secretly sent to Novorossiysk, where Soviet power was established in December 1917. Two parliamentarians, Gleb Sedin and Samuel Strilko, were sent to Ekaterinodar to resolve controversial issues at the negotiating table. Parliamentarians were arrested and brutally interrogated instead of negotiations. Abuse and torture failed to break Sedin and Strilko, without saying anything, they were martyred. The mutilated bodies were derailed. Gleb Sedin was only 29 years old.
