Entrance arch of the estate "Arkhangelsk"
Description:
The entrance arch, which connects the wings like a castle stone, maintains the architectural unity of the Grand Court. Built shortly after the victory of Russia in the war of 1812, it is like a triumphal arch and in its scale is more suitable for a city than a country estate. Above the Archivolts are depicted flying Glory. The cast iron gates, the openwork pattern of which goes back to the Empire style, were made in 1896 according to the project of the architect N.V. Sultanov.
