The Abduction of Europe Fountain
Russia, Krasnoyarsk Territory, the city of Krasnoyarsk, Pre-Bridge Square.
Description:
The composition of the fountain "The Abduction of Europe" appeared on the Bridge Square of Krasnoyarsk in the late summer of 2004. Its authors are sculptors Alexander Tkachuk, Vitaly Osmushkin and architect Andrei Kasatkin. The sculpture is entirely made of bronze.
In the fountain, the authors embodied a mythical story about the beauty of Europe. The god Zeus once saw her, fell in love, and then decided to kidnap her. Zeus assumes the image of a bull, fearing that in his usual guise it will be impossible to appear before Europe, the beauty will simply be afraid. Beauty Europa climbed on his back, and Zeus rushed her to the island of Crete, where she would later become his wife.
The water in the fountain pumps one pump, there are six baths, which contain about five cubic meters of water. Europa, sitting on the back of Zeus, can see the Yenisei River, from which there is an amazing fountain. The bridge square is now a favorite place for walks of residents and guests of Krasnoyarsk, and the merit of the fountain "The Abduction of Europe" is also here!
