Description:
The Holy Cross Cathedral is located on the bank of the Yenisei River. The temple is 67 meters high and is built of red brick. Its crown consists of 13 domes in honor of the apostles Christ and the Master. In the Cathedral there are three thrones, in the center - in honor of the Exaltation of the Honest and Life-giving Cross of the Lord, in the northern part there is an icon of the Mother of God "Vladimir", in the southern part - in the name of the Royal Passion-Bearers.
The cathedral was built using a rare technique of "Persian" masonry. Externally, the cathedral is analogous to the Moscow Cathedral of Basil the Blessed. The bell tower is much higher than the building itself. Bell "Blagovest" weighs 4444 kg - the largest, and the smallest - 3 kg. The bell tower itself has 11 pieces, all of them were made in Kamensk-Uralsky.
The iconostasis in the cathedral was painted in the workshop of Vitaly Shumilov in the city of Dubna in the style of A. Rublev. The author of the project Alexander Bannikov. The first stone was laid in 1995. The temple was built for 7 years.
Today, the rector of the Holy Cross Cathedral is Father Andrei (Yurevich). The temple has long become a favorite place for parishioners and a place of pilgrimage for foreign and Russian guests.
