Description:
The Kureisk reservoir is an artificially created reservoir on the Kureyka River, which is the right tributary of the Yenisei in the Krasnoyarsk Territory of the Russian Federation. The reservoir was formed by the dam of the city hydroelectric power plant, built between 1975 and 2002 near the village of Svetlogorsk.
The reservoir is part of the Kurei cascade of hydroelectric power plants and reservoirs. A little downstream is expected to create another, Nizhnekurei reservoir, immediately after the completion of the construction of the eponymous hydroelectric power plant.
