Lake Uchum

Lake Uchum is a balneo-mud resort in the Uzhursky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory 380 km. southwest of Krasnoyarsk on the shore of Lake Uchum in a mountain valley among the eastern spurs of the Kuznetsk Alatau. For millions of years, nature has been conjuring over the recipe of lake water and silt mud, and it turned out to be a unique remedy that cures many ailments. It was discovered centuries ago. Many diseases were treated with Uchum mud. In the XIX century, a spontaneous healing center appeared on the lake. Word about the miraculous properties of the local mud reached the capital. Many ladies came here to be treated for infertility, the glory of the lake grew. In 1925, the resort "Lake Uchum" was formed - the first health resort of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. For 85 years, many thousands of people have improved their health here.

Scientists say that the healing resources of Lake Uchum are simply inexhaustible. Many decades of observations of the water level have confirmed that it rises and falls. And this has been happening for millions of years. That silt mud, which is used for procedures, is a tiny part of its reserves at the bottom of the lake. Due to the remoteness from industrial centers and the special microclimate of the valley, the process of accumulation of therapeutic sludge continues today. As a result of complex chemical reactions, the green vegetation of the lake – tin or plankton – is processed into a substance that contains almost all the elements of the Mendeleev table.

The relatively small lake – 4 kilometers long and 2 kilometers wide – is a huge repository of natural medicine. It is enough to restore health to thousands of people.
