The King-Fish Monument
Description:
The brilliant forged monument “Tsar-fish” was erected in 2004 to the 80th anniversary of the writer Viktor Astafiev and is one of the main symbols of Krasnoyarsk. It was erected in honor of the work of the same name, which contains the generalized meaning of the struggle of man with nature. “King-fish” is a sturgeon, which is a symbol of taming and mastering nature. In the fairy tale, a person tries to tame the animal, the fight ends dramatically - a wounded king-fish, not submitting to a person, leaves him in the sea, carrying many hooks in his body. Near the sculpture there is a beautiful observation deck, which is very popular among tourists traveling to the village of Ovsyanka - the birthplace of Viktor Astafiev. From here there is a wonderful view of the village of Sliznevo.
In the composition of the monument there is a marble book placed on a stand 80 centimeters high. Tourists are impressed by the detail of the monument, the skin of the fish is so thought out that it can be considered both scales and traces of hooks. In 2003, a partial reconstruction of the monument was carried out, nowadays it pleases many tourists who often do not delve into its hidden meaning, but simply admire the appearance.
