Birilus Museum of Local Lore

The idea of creating a district museum arose after the participation of the delegation of the Birilyus district in 1995 in the II Krasnoyarsk International Music Festival of the Asia-Pacific region, where objects of vanishing antiquity were presented on rural farmsteads. On the basis of the resolution of the administration of the Birilyus district of 03.07.1995 No. 209 at the Department of public education was opened the Museum of history of the Birilyus district. Nadezhda Alexandrovna Laktionova was appointed director. From 18.06.1997 the museum was transferred to the department of culture and cinema. For four years, the museum staff was engaged in collecting and research work. Since June 11, 1999, the museum is officially open to visitors. On the basis of the resolution of the administration of the Birilius district of 30.12.1999 No. 239 since January 1, 2000, the Novobirilus Public Museum was transformed into the Novobirilus Museum of Local Lore. On the basis of the order No5 of 19.09.2005 of the Department of Culture and Cinema of the administration of the Birilius district, a legal entity was created: Municipal Institution of Culture Birilius Museum of Local Lore. From December 1, 2011, by changing the type of municipal cultural institution, the Birilius Museum of Local Lore was created the Municipal Budgetary Cultural Institution “Birilus Museum of Local Lore”.

The museum acquaints with the history of settlement and historical events of the territory of the Birilius district from 1621 to the present.

At the moment, the number of items of the museum fund is 5812 units.
