Fort "Emperor Alexander I"
Description:
Fort "Emperor Alexander I" is one of the long-term defensive structures of Krondstadt, built in 1838-1845 by the architect Maurice Deström. It is located on a small island south of Kotlin Island.
The fort is a circular structure, measuring 60 by 90 meters and has 4 battle tiers, which can accommodate up to 137 guns. It was designed to control the Southern Fairway.
Since 1897, there was an anti-plague laboratory in it, hence the second name of the fort - Plague.
Currently, the fort is planned to create an entertainment complex with a theater stage, museum, cafe, bar, restaurant and shopping area.
