Fort Totleben

Fort "Totleben", Fort "A", Fort Pervomaisky - one of the long-term defensive structures included in the defense system of Kronstadt. Administratively, the territory of the fort belongs to the municipality of the city of Kronstadt.

Construction of the fort began in 1896 during the reconstruction of the Kronstadt fortress. The basis of the reconstruction was the construction of two bulk islands to accommodate large artillery forts with concrete casemates and shell cellars. The forts were named "A" and "B". Fort "A" was located on a shallow 4 kilometers west of Sestroretsk and 10 kilometers from Kotlin Island.
