About the company:
The Kronstadt History Museum is located near the Sea Cathedral. The museum was created by the efforts of enthusiasts of the city club of local historians with the support of the administration of the Kronstadt district in 1991. Residents of the city took part in the formation of the collection, transferring their own family relics to its disposal.
The city on the island of Kotlin more than 3 centuries. Kronstadt has a rich history of dramatic and heroic events. Until today, unique hydraulic and fortification structures, parks and gardens, beautiful buildings that create unique architectural ensembles have been preserved. The exposition is a witness to the history of this unique place: how people lived here, what their work and rest was, what shocks they experienced here together with their homeland, how they became heroes, what memory they left for their countrymen.
The Kronstadt History Museum meticulously collects, accumulates and carefully preserves everything related to the past of the island in order to carefully study and pass on to descendants as evidence of the bright, difficult, often heroic life of people who lived here before them.
Among the exhibits, you can find unusual items: a kopushka of the XIX century - a prototype of a modern cotton swab, a cosmetic set of the early XX century, a samovar "selfish", a collection of cameras, as well as models of ships and submarines.
The historical reconstruction of the besieged room conveys the tragedy of Leningrad and Kronstadt during the Great Patriotic War, and authentic objects and photographs tell about the heroic feat of the city of military glory. The exposition of the museum also presents materials about the life of post-war Kronstadt.
