Kungur+Ice Cave
Description:
Kungur is one of the oldest merchant towns in the Perm Krai. Originated as a trading city, not a factory. Kungur was founded in 1663 due to its geographical location. The former wealth of the city is clearly evidenced by numerous preserved and to this day chic merchant houses. Kungur is an open-air museum that is so pleasant to walk through. Kungur was even called the tea capital of Russia.
The main attraction of modern Kungur is the Kungur Ice Cave - This is a unique natural monument of extraordinary beauty. It is icy all year round, thanks to the constant temperature inside the cave. The cave consists of a series of beautiful and diverse grottoes, stalagmites and stalactites of which shimmer surprisingly in the rays of laser illumination. Every guest and resident of the region should visit this amazing place at least once.
In summer, Kungur becomes the capital of aeronautics every year! Every year, the sky of this small town is filled with colorful balloons - the "Heavenly Fair" is held, which opens and ends with an enchanting show and a dance of "Elephants" (balls).
