KGM was established in 1998. The initial funds included materials transferred by the Kurchatov Collectors Club (household items, numismatic exhibits) and archaeological collections obtained as a result of exploration and excavations in the Kurchatov district. To date, the museum contains rich collections of Upper Paleolithic sites of the bull complex, Kursk region. Folk costumes of the Kursk province of the 18th and 20th centuries, acquired as a result of ethnographic expeditions, are exhibited. In 2001, KGM was transferred to the visit and funds "Museum of folk pottery" and labor glory of the city of Kurchatov and KNPP. Museum workers organize annual archaeological, ethnographic and ecological expeditions. |

Хочу поблагодарить Азалиеву Ирину Анатольевна за замечательную экскурсию по Курчатовскому краеведческому музею. Грамотно, интересно, познавательно и с душой. И взрослые и дети остались довольными. Очень приятно видеть человека, который любит свою работу и умеет вызвать интерес к познанию.
